This is why ‘you’ matter. What you think and feel matter.
“We must become, in our lives, the very things we wish to experience in our world.” ~ Gregg Braden
I woke up to the idea recently that my attention is no longer on The Stuff.
The playing around of manifesting ’stuff’ has been just that — playing. As though I have been testing Law of Attraction to see if it really works. Well, what happened along the way was my ego strength improved. The ego needs to be strong and healthy before it can be released. I believed this stuff. I believed I could attract what I (thought I) needed. You mean I could think a new car into my existence? I could think a loving life partner into my life? I still believe its possible and many people do that and keep doing that and that ends up being enough for them. But I am funny. I’ve this inquisitive mind that wants to know ‘why’ all the time. I kept searching enough to understand the science behind the Law of Attraction and other Universal Laws. We’re talking Matrix stuff, here. Gregg Braden is THE guy to explain the science stuff to us regular Joes and Josephines.
My intentions used to be much more simpler. I used to want to manifest stuff to make my life easier. The focus was on The Stuff. I believed The Stuff would make my life better. Very externally focused. Who hasn’t done this? It’s a main focus of the movie The Secret. Think stuff into your existence. Think a better job into your existence. The car. The home. The boyfriend. The trips. You have the power.
Yep. We do. I know we do. I know we have that power without even having attracted exactly that stuff/job/car/home/boyfriend/trips. Stuff happened that made me not need to see The Stuff to prove it could be done. My intentions changed. I used to hold the intention of attracting this stuff into my life. Now I have greater, loftier intentions. I’m like a moving target.
The pendulum is swinging back down, though. I sense it. My attention was on attracting nothing in particular before my consciousness began expanding. Then it was on the getting of stuff because I’d done without The Stuff for so long and doesn’t everyone deserve to feel the abundant life? Once I deeply understood I could attract absolutely anything I set my attention on, it seems I stopped really focusing on anything in particular. Sort of like, well, if I can have anything, why would I want it? What good would it do me? And then I stopped wanting The Stuff so badly. This is where you start to de-clutter your life. Stuff has energy. All the stuff that’s hanging around you, unused, unwanted, it’s clogging energy. It’s important to keep it moving. Pass it on.
My intentions have changed. No longer am I ego-centric and focused on what I can ‘get’ to make ‘my’ life better. It would be nice to have a beautiful car, but not necessary to the spiritual evolution of mankind.
Call me kooky.
It’s a relief, frankly. There is more to life than The Stuff. I’m not judging anyone else’s choice to want to attract The Stuff. If I hadn’t focused on attracting The Stuff, only to realize there is more to manifestation and deliberate creation than The Stuff, I would not be where I am today. Choosing to focus on and manifest The Stuff is an important step in understanding deliberate creation.
My intention is to bring light to the world in everything that I do. To be the very best person I can be. To make choices on the side of light, choice by choice. To always make the light choice, the right choice. Sometimes I will falter. But I have faltered before. I know how to falter. More importantly, I know how to get myself back up on the horse. And quickly.
This is a beautiful trip.

Hi there – I saw this on my FB feed and thought I’d leave a comment!
The good news is that all of this stuff sounds really good and is super nice to believe!
The bad news is – most of the “science” that he refers to is a very, very small subset of an even smaller subset of scientific folks who believe anything remotely like this is true..:-)
I agree with you – the “why’s” are important to ask! That’s why I’m a bit concerned though, that Gregg Braden rarely seems to refer to SPECIFIC “science” studies when he makes these broad, sweeping comments about what is widely accepted to be a accurate and authentic.
(cause most scientists think this is SO far off base – as to be silly)
I tend to be really open to this stuff myself – but there are much more authoritative people doing work in this area – the 9/11 reference he gives is NOT widely accepted to be significant (I’ve read about it before)and in general – especially after what recently happened to a few people at the James Arthur Ray Seminar (as in…they died..:-( I find most of the “secret” stuff is sort of officially exposed as what’s it’s been all along: An emperor….without many clothes, trying to piggyback off little bits of quantum physics to teach (read: charge lots of money) ordinary people that they can achieve extraordinary things by magically changing their thoughts.
(it’s not so easy – believe me, I’ve tried….and I’m guessing so too have you..:-)
Good post though, and I like your blog – enjoyable to think about, too!
@ Ian Thanks so much for your viewpoint. When it comes down to it, maybe the specifics of what each of us believe is less important than that we believe something at all and have fun figuring out whether it’s Truth (with a capital T) or not. We’ll never know! Of course, we’ll die trying (pun intended). I didn’t stick so much on the 9/11 reference, myself. I do, however, like that word is getting out that what each of us thinks and, ultimately, feels — from the heart — matters a great deal.
